Estes Park is Bursting With Beautiful Fiber!

Estes Valley Quilt Guild is one of many participants in Estes Park's annual Fiber Affair during May and June. Our members' creations are hanging at US Bank until June 17. Don’ t miss the newest exhibit at the Cultural Arts Council out by the Elizabeth Guild. This is and Invitational show called Fiber Inspirations opening June 3, 5-8pm. The show will run through June 26th. This show will be featuring: CSU teacher, students and grad student work; Wired and Enlighted group from the Boulder Handweaver’s guild, their speciality is adding LED lights to their weavings, Mountain Valley Weaver’s from Glenwood Springs, and more student fiber work from the Community College of Aurora, students of fiber artist, Sandra Clark. Then we have several individual artists who where invited be part of the exhibit as well. Those artists include, Kara Schorstien Peterson-quilter, and upolstery, Linda Lugenbill- basketry, Kay Dudek- felter, Shannon Kaye –paper Artist, Kathy Bright-weaver, Sara Maypole-knitter. FACE Jurors and FACE planning will also have pieces in the show.

At the Library, June 1st – 30th there will be a display of fiber groups that create their work as a service to the community!

The Weaver Attic will be Fiber Bombing on May 25, have displays of work on the third floor and there will be weaving demostrations Wed. June 8, 1-4pm; June 9 -June12, 12-4pm- Mon. June 13, 1-3pm in the Courtyard shops.
 
June 3rd -12th visit The Studio Fine Art and Framing across from the Art Center by the movie theater. They will be displaying knitting and crocheting from the Stitchin’ Den.
 
Don’t miss the Trail Ridge Quilter’s Sale on Saturday June 11th only, at the Senior Center between 9-3.

And of course there is the FACE of Fiber in the Rockies exhibit opening on June 10th at 1:00 to 6:00, June 11 – 10:00-5:00 and Sunday, June 12- 10:00 to 3:00,the closing reception will be from 1-3, Awards at 2:00. The show will display the work of fiber artists from Colorado and Estes Park.
