Upcoming Quilting Events (lots & lots)

I had an email from Barb Gardner (Colorado Quilting Council Publicity Chairperson) this morning with announcements and information on a large number of quilt related events coming up. I've "copied" and "pasted" the information below so get out your pens and calendars and make some plans!

The Colorado Quilting Council invites you to their meetings.  Guest fees are $10. per meeting. The Quilt Colorado quilt show in July will only accept entries from members so join now if you would like to enter the show.  Mark your calendars now for these speakers………………
March 22,  Lea McComas   "Making Faces”, portraiture in quilts and the geometry of facial features.  Lea just won “Best Quilt from a First Time Entrant” at Road to California, 2014.  She has won at Paducah and numerous other awards for her intricate quilts depicting her travels, people and nature.  Words can’t describe them so visit www.LeaMcComas.com then see them yourself at the talk.
The meeting will be at the Longmont Convention Center, 1900 Ken Pratt Blvd., Longmont, CO.  (Just east of Twin Peaks Mall).   It’s the same location as Quilt Colorado, in July, 2014.

250 quilts went to Tracey Barber, owner of Lyons Quilting, in November, for distribution to residents in the heavily damaged Lyons area.  90 quilts went to  people affected by floods in Coal Creek and Clear Creek canyons. The remaining quilts will be distributed through Colorado Spirit, an outreach organization providing assistance to flood victims in Jefferson and Clear Creek counties.
