Tailorbirds - Birds That Stitch!

These adorable and talented little birds are Tailorbirds. There are many varieties, and they all have their talent for sewing in common!

The first step in building their nests is to pierce holes around the edges of leaves, then stitch them together with plant fiber and spider silk to create a leaf pouch where they build their grass nests.

Thrilled to be Meeting in Person Again

April 13, 2020

Our first in-person meeting since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic was a tonic for our collective Estes Valley Quilt Guild soul. Our new venue, Mountain View Bible Fellowship, is the ideal place for our regular meetings and other activities.

Heidi Kaisand presented a delightful live program which we viewed on a large screen. The program featured images of her grandmother and other family members along with many beautiful quilts. Heidi is the owner of Hen & Chicks Studio in Conrad, Iowa. Click here to visit the website.

As always, Show and Tell by our members was inspirational.
