Join us on May 10, 2017 for Donna Mae Norris' presentation
"Color For Quilts"
Build your confidence in choosing colors for your quilts in
Donna Mae Norris’ talk about how to use color in quilts and be inspired by
seeing dozens of quilts with examples of various color schemes. You will learn about optical mixing, how to
use a color wheel, and how to choose colors to get the theme or mood you desire
in your quilt. Every quilt is a piece of
art and color is a very important design element in art.
Quilt making has been Donna Mae Norris’ passion for over 30
years. She has made every size bed quilt
plus wall hangings, and enjoys making every style from traditional and modern
to art quilts. Her quilts have been
exhibited all around the U.S. and she has won numerous awards in competitions
including Quilt Festival in Houston. She
was one of the owners of The Patchworks Quilt Shop in south Longmont in the
early ‘90’s.
Because Donna Mae loves sharing her enthusiasm for quilt
making, she has been teaching extensively at quilt shops and quilt guilds all
around Colorado and other states for over 28 years. She teaches classes for both adults and
children, and has taught all styles of quilts and at every skill level for each
technique.
By putting together fabrics for her own quilts and helping
students and customers put together fabrics for their quilts, she has
tremendous experience choosing color in quilts.
She has also taken art classes and color classes starting in college and
continuing into her quilting years.
Donna Mae will share her knowledge about how to use color in your quilts
today.
Guests are encouraged to attend for a nominal fee of $10.
